INTRODUCTION

The Future is FAKE

This new book, Fake, was completed in April of 2018—and being edited for release in the Fall of 2018.

On May 28, 2018, I was walking past a newsstand, scanning rows and rows of magazines that were calling out: “Look at me.” “Pick me up.” “Buy me!” “Read me!” Obviously, the magazines with pretty women and fast cars on the covers spoke to me the loudest. Yet, it was a rather bland cover of Time magazine that grabbed me by the collar and said, “You must read me.” The headline on the cover shouted: “How My Generation Broke America”

That magazine article—and the impact it had on me—delayed the publication of this book.

CHAPTER 1

FAKE Money

The World Is about to Change…
In 1972, I was a Marine Corps pilot, a lieutenant flying helicopter gunships, stationed on board an aircraft carrier off the coast of Vietnam. This was my second tour to Vietnam. My first tour was in 1966 as a midshipman, a student at Kings Point, the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy.

A Letter from Rich Dad
One day aboard the aircraft carrier, I received a letter from my rich dad saying, “President Nixon took the dollar off the gold standard. Watch out, the world is about to change.”

President Richard Nixon took the U.S. dollar off the gold standard on August 15, 1971. He made his announcement during the popular TV show Bonanza. Apparently I had missed that episode of the TV series—and the President’s important announcement.

CHAPTER 2

In God We Trust

On February 6, 1974, the U.S. House of Representatives passed House Resolution 803, giving the Judiciary Committee authority to investigate whether there were sufficient grounds to impeach President Nixon for his involvement in the Watergate scandal.

On July 27, 1974, the Committee approved three articles of impeachment, one for obstruction of justice, one for abuse of power, and one for contempt of Congress.

On August 9, 1974, Nixon resigned as President of the United States.

On September 8. 1974, Vice President Gerald Ford issues a full and unconditional pardon for Nixon, immunizing him from prosecution for any federal crimes he had committed or may have taken part in as president.

And we trust these leaders… our leaders?

7 Reasons I Own Real Gold and Silver

REASON #1: Real gold and silver are not investments. I do not own gold and silver to make money. They are insurance, a hedge against the stupidity of the elites… and myself.

I have insurance on my car, just in case someone hits me, or in case I hit someone else. Gold and silver serve a similar purpose.

I do not trust the elites. They believe they know everything. They believe they are always right In their minds, they do not make mistakes. They will never admit they are wrong.

Elites are not the only ones with this affliction. All of us are afflicted with the “I am right and you are wrong” disease. We all know someone who is always right. At times, I am that person, too.

CHAPTER 4

Printing Fake Money

Printing fake money is not new.

The ancient and modern banking systems are built on printing fake money. Printing fake money is the way banks make money.

The reason banks make so much money is because banks have a license to print money.

Banks are not the only organization with a license to print money. The stock market, bond market, real estate market, financial derivatives markets, and many other markets have licenses to print money.

Counterfeiters print real fake money.

You can print money too, legally, and you do not need a license.

LESSON: People who work for money… work for people who print money.

CHAPTER 5

How Much Money Are YOU Printing?

Reminder: Printing money is not new.
Reminder: Printing fake money is the foundation of the banking system.

Understanding how money is printed offers you a better chance of doing well, in a world of fake money.

LESSON: Understanding how money is printed, you will better understand why poor people are poor and how not to be one of them.

PRINTING MONEY #1: Printing cows

For thousands of years, money has taken many forms. Money has been beads, feathers, stones, animals, and pottery. One of the earliest and most important forms of money has been cattle.

Cattle have been the foundation for modern money for thousands of years. Cattle is real money, even today.

Financial Literacy: Words, derived from cattle.
1: “Collateral:” Collateral is a derivative of the word cattle.

8 MORE Reasons I Own Gold and Silver

REASON #1: TRUST. I do not trust fake money.

I do not trust myself. I know I do not know everything. I do not have all the answers. I cannot predict the future. I know I must prepare for the future.

I do not trust the elites who run our governments, banks, and Wall Street. I do not trust anyone who prints fake money.

I own gold and silver because I trust real gold and silver, I trust god’s real money.

Real gold and silver have been here since the earth was formed. Gold and silver were here before the cockroaches and will be here long after the cockroaches are gone.

Gold is atomic number 79; Silver is atomic number 47.

In god’s money… I trust.

CHAPTER 7

What Made the Three Wise Men Wise?

In Sunday School, I learned an important life’s lesson. It was a lesson from of the three Wise Men.

My Sunday school teacher was a great teacher. She was young, pretty, and loved teaching kids. During one class, she asked us: “What made the three wise men wise?”

Naturally, I said, “They had money. They came bearing expensive gifts. They were rich and wise men.”

Obviously, that was not the answer she was looking for. After a few other students attempted their answers, she smiled and said: “What made them wise was their life-long search for great teachers.”

Pausing for a moment to let that thought sink in, into the minds of kids below the age of 12, she continued by saying: “They were wise men, rich men, because they never stopped learning. They kept seeking new knowledge, knowledge from great teachers.”

CHAPTER 8

Going Back to School

On January 3, 1973, our plane landed at Norton Air Force Base, in California. There were approximately 200 servicemen on board, returning from Vietnam. I was officer-in-charge of the 16 Marines from the carrier.

The first thing we all noticed was the large crowds of anti-war protestors waiting for us. After my 16 men had gathered their bags, I shook their hands and wished them well as they headed home. We had all served together for one year, in Vietnam.

The chanting from the protestors was growing louder as the returning troops approached the gate. I could feel the fear and see the tension in my men’s faces as we headed toward the gate. In many ways, facing, American anti-war protestors was more frightening than facing the Viet Cong in Vietnam. At least we could shoot back in Vietnam.

CHAPTER 9

How to Catch a Lot of Fish

Rich dad often said: “You cannot catch fish in clean water.”

He also said: “You can only catch fish in muddy water.”

In an earlier chapter, I wrote: “It is easier to give people fish… than to teach people to fish.”

Why? Because learning to fish is hard.

Real learning is hard. Think about the game of golf. In theory, golf is an extremely simple game. Unlike a baseball, the golf ball is not moving. Yet, it is one of the hardest games in the world to play, much less master. To become a Tiger Woods, a Rory McIlroy, or a Phil Mickelson requires super-human dedication and sacrifice. Talent alone is not enough.

The same is true with the game of money.

CHAPTER 10

Mistakes Are Your Best Real Teachers

I wish I could say getting rich was easy. I wish I could say I was a “boy wonder,” a natural entrepreneur. I wish I could say I was always joyous and happy; that I got along with everyone.

I wish I could say everyone I met and did business with was an incredible, smart, generous, honest, law-abiding citizen of highest integrity, ethics, and morals. But I can’t.

The journey from poor to rich, from employee to entrepreneur, was a journey of very high highs and very low lows. It was a journey meeting wonderful people and horrible people. Oftentimes, that was the same person: a person who was wonderful in one instance or situation and horrible the next. A person who was honest to your face, then stabbing you in the back, ripping you off, lying, cheating, and stealing as soon as you signed the contract.

CHAPTER 11

How Going to School Keeps People Poor

“You can’t do that here.”

If I have heard that statement once, I have heard it a thousand times.

No matter where I am in the world, every time I explain my rich dad’s lessons on money, debt, and taxes—and what I do in real life—people always say: “You can’t do that here.”

And that person is right. They can’t do what I do. But I can. And do. And I can do it virtually anywhere in the world. That is the power of real education.

In other words, real education empowers people.

Fake education keeps people poor, small, limited, tethered to tiny filaments of life, limited by limiting thoughts.

CHAPTER 12

Entrepreneurs in Education

FAKE NEWS: President Trump issues Executive Order on Education.

In July of 2018, President Trump issued an Executive Order proclaiming the reeducation and retraining of American workers. Many big corporations are behind the President’s education initiative.

This is an example of fake news. President Trump’s executive order sounds great, a great idea, obviously timed to attract more votes from workers.

REAL NEWS: The real news is, the United States already spends over $1 billion a year on reeducation and retraining of its work force.

REAL NEWS: The real new is that reeducation and retraining programs are not working.
